Mijn onderzoek is gebaseerd op de veronderstelling dat het geheugen een reizend post-concept is, dat niet beperkt is tot één vakgebied van de wetenschap en dat een permanente transformatie ondergaat (Bal 2002). Dit maakt het echter moeilijk deze term te definiëren en daarom moet het begrip meer worden beschouwd als een conceptueel project, een verzameling termen, afbeeldingen, verhalen. In het Poolse culturele geheugen bestaat er een reeks beelden en representaties van de Nederlandse cultuur. Voor mijn onderzoek heb ik ze verdeeld in twee groepen: dragers en media. De term dragers verwijst naar materiële objecten, dingen en acties, terwijl media verband houdt met breed gedefinieerde processen, geheugenmechanismen en instellingen en organisaties (Kula 2002). In de volgende bijdrage, gebaseerd op het voorbeeld van de stad Gdańsk, presenteer ik geselecteerde media, voornamelijk vertegenwoordigd door plaatsen en ruimtes verbonden met de Nederlandse cultuur, evenals dragers, verbeeld door de teksten op genoemde plaatsen.

Jednym z podstawowych założeń moich badań jest teza zakładająca, że pamięć to swego rodzaju wędrujący post-koncept, nieograniczający się do jednej dziedziny nauki i stale ulegający transformacji (Bal 2002). To z kolei sprawia, że pojęcie to wymyka się próbom definicji i powinno być rozpatrywane bardziej jako swoisty projekt konceptualny, zbiór terminów, obrazów, narracji. W polskiej pamięci kulturowej funkcjonuje taki właśnie zbiór obrazów i reprezentacji kultury niderlandzkiej, które do potrzeby mojego badania podzielone zostały na dwie grupy, a mianowicie nośniki i media. Pojęciem nośników obejmuję przedmioty materialne, konkretne obiekty oraz akcje, podczas gdy media mają związek z szeroko pojętymi procesami, mechanizmami pamiętania, a także instytucjami i organizacjami (Kula 2002). W tym artykule, na przykładzie Gdańska, zostaną zaprezentowane wybrane media, przede wszystkim przez miejsca i przestrzenie związane z kulturą niderlandzką, oraz nośniki w postaci tekstów kulturowych dotyczących tych miejsc.

My research is based on the assumption that the memory is a travelling post-concept, not limited to one field of science and undergoing a permanent transformation (Bal 2002). This, on the other hand, makes this term hard to define and therefore it should be considered more like a conceptual project, a collection of terms, images, narratives. In Polish cultural memory such set of pictures and representations of Dutch culture exists. For the purpose of my research I divided them into two groups: carriers and media. The term “carriers” refers to material objects, things and actions, while media is connected to broadly defined processes, mechanisms of memory as well as institutions and organizations (Kula 2002). In the following publication, basing on example of the city of Gdansk, I will present selected media, represented mainly by places and spaces connected with Dutch culture, as well as carriers, embodied by the texts on mentioned places.
