Artykuł przedstawia obraz współczesnej edukacji religijnej w Austrii. Autor zarysowuje krótko tradycje formacji religijnej, następnie prezentuje aktualny stan nauczania religii w austriackich szkołach publicznych, analizuje treści podstaw programowych oraz wpływ nauczania na życie uczniów. W dalszej części artykułu opisana jest katecheza parafialna z jej naczelnymi aspektami takimi jak mistagogia, spotkanie, gościnność. W podsumowaniu autor dokonuje oceny dzisiejszego modelu edukacji religijnej w Austrii w świetle wyzwań współczesności.

Te article draws a picture of modern religious education in Austria. At the beginning the author briefly outlines the traditions of religious formation, then presents the current condition of R.E. in Austrian state schools. He analyses the content of syllabus as well as its influence on pupils’ lives. Te further part of the article deals with parish catechesis together with its main aspects such as: mystagogy, encounter, hospitality. In the summary the author evaluates the state of religious education in Austria in light of modern challenges.
