Purpose. The purpose is to make a comparative analysis of the most actual Russian and Kazakh proverbs and sayings, used in speech of modern Aktobe citizens. Methods. For realization of the purposes we have interviewed and conducted а questionnaire amongst the Aktobe (schoolboys, teachers, teachers of high schools, students) for revealing of actual proverbs and sayings. By means of proverbs and sayings we see the ethnic particularities of the two folk’s worldview. Also, an expert evaluation has been given, claiming that by means of proverbs and sayings we see the ethnic particularities of the two folk’s world outlook. Results. The analysis of the material has proved that the most significant values in Kazakhs and Russians have been erudition, reading, knowledge, wit, wisdom, science, teaching, reason, and rationality. So, we have studied proverbs connecting with these rhemes in details and tried to reveal ethnic differences of the Kazakhs and Russians. Also, the results of the study have shown, the value orientations are an important component in the system of inheritance of the traditional knowledge in each ethnos representative. The main mass of ethno-cultural information was adopted at early age together with the language formation.
