W artykule podjęto próbę przybliżenia czytelnikowi sylwetki Hansa Niekrawietza, niemieckiego pisarza pochodzącego z Górnego Śląska, publikującego w okresie III Rzeszy. Przedstawiając szerszą problematykę literatury polsko-niemieckiego pogranicza, autorka zastanawia się nad potrzebą i zasadnością tłumaczenia tekstów literackich uwikłanych, choćby potencjalnie, w trudne konteksty polityczne.

The author discusses the works of Niekrawietz in the context of the literary tradition of the Polish-German borderland and poses the question of the need and usefulness of translating and thus saving from oblivion literary texts potentially involved in political contexts.
