Tytułowa "Sześć Zasad" (Liu Fa) opracowane zostało w czasach Południowej Dynastii Qi (479-501 r.n.e.) przez Xie He i w tak charakterystycznej dla Chin i wyjątkowej sztuce monochromatycznego malarstwa tuszem obowiązuje do dziś. Kultura estetyczna Kraju Środka była i w dużym stopniu nadal jest z wytrwale kontynuowanym wysiłkiem dawania nowego życia starym wzorom i formom. Dlatego "Sześć Zasad" stanowi zapis myśli filozoficznej ważnej dla każdego, kto interesuje się kulturą plastyczną Chin - zarówno tych starożytnych jak i współczesnych. W moim eseju staram się przybliżyć ich sens umieszczając je w szerokim konfucjańsko-taoistyczno-buddyjskim kontekście.

Lui Fa or The Six Principles of Chinese painting was written by Xie Ho in the Southern Qi period (479-501). These principles are the first and basic steps in understanding the dao of ink painting, so characteristic of the culture of the Middle Kingdom. Liu Fa is the traditional record serving to transmid old ideas and beliefs. The Six Principles are particularly important for anyone interested in the philosophy and technique of brushwork in Chinese landscape painting and calligraphy. In my essay I would like to explain these standards, in general unknown to the western reader, in the context of Confucian, Taois, and Buddhist ways of thinking.
