Autorki omawiają zwłaszcza rolę motywu młodości (pol. pępek) i jego zasięg geograficzny.

The Slavic harvest custom of leaving a heap of unreaped crops in the field (in Poland called przepiórka, broda, pępek, koza, and so on) is based on the opposition old/young, which functions as an active factor that shapes the entire realm of depictions. The authors discuss especially the role of the theme of youth (Pol. pępek) and its geographical range.
