The article is devoted to reviewing of conceptualizations of cultural diversity represented in different theoretical versions of the world society. It was explicated that the constructs of the world-society reveal their methodological potential by exploring the problem field of the cultural globalization. The assumption of coming into being of worldsocieties as the plurality is connected with interpretation of the world in the theory of self-referent social systems (N. Luhmann, R. Stichweh, H. Willke), and opens a new horizon for understanding of the cultural diversity and searching for a new self-definition of the philosophy and sociology.
