The presence of Church ministers in traditional media and now in social networking services has already become a field of research in its various aspects, as was demonstrated by the Italian longitudinal study called “Churchbook” in 2012 and recently in 2015. The article, through the category of selfpresentation, tries to draw possible research-lines concerning the traditional television-based presentation of priests and their recent presence in social media. The author suggests that media identity and activity/presence of the Church ministers should be scrutinised under the lenses of pastoral theology, educational mission and purposes; the subject of the self-presentation should be covered in a formation process during the years of preparation for priesthood and religious life.
