The article deals with the criterion for belonging of certain ways of thinking, problems, and researchers to the field of Catholic philosophy. According to the author, it is determined not so much by questions as by the position of a philosopher who in his conscious thinking relies on the truth of the Christian faith and the doctrine of the Catholic Church. Philosophy can indeed serve theology, and vice versa, because they have a common field – human spirituality. The philosopher can answer some theological questions as well as defend his religious position in philosophical discussions. As examples of such philosophizing the article gives reflections of such thinkers of the 20th century as J. Maritain, J. Lacroix and K. Wojtyla. The main problem which the author concerns is these researchers’ personalistic models built on the Christian conceptual and worldview base.
