W artykule opisano strategię rozwojową Londynu i jej wpływ na atrakcyjność turystyczną miasta. Szczególną uwagę zwrócono na możliwości płynące z różnorodności kulturowej, jaka cechuje współczesne metropolie. W dalszej części wskazano najnowsze, wybrane inwestycje związane z dziedzictwem kulturowym Londynu: Kings Cross (nowe centrum i zarazem obszar dziedzictwa postindustrialnego), Exhibition Road (główna aleja w prestiżowej dzielnicy Kensington, rejon muzeów), najbliższe otoczenie zabytkowego statku Cutty Sark (jako odwołanie do historii i tradycji morskiej) oraz Olimpijski Park Królowej Elżbiety (potwierdzający angielskie dziedzictwo kształtowania krajobrazowego otwartych terenów zieleni).

The paper describes London development strategy and its impact on tourist attraction of the city. Special attention was drawn to cultural diversity, what is internal feature of metropolis. In the following part of this article it points to the newest and selected realizations connected with cultural heritage of London: kings Cross (the new city centre and postindustrial heritage), Exhibition Road (the main road in museum area), the closest surroundings of the British clipper ship Cutty Sark (showing British marine tradition) and the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park (landscape architecture and British tradition of shaping this kind of lands). In the conclusion section, reference was made also to Polish tourist potential
