Abstracts

The paper presents French toponyms derived from the appellative names of animals. Particular attention the author gives to the work of Stéphane Gendron “Animaux et noms de lieux”, published in 2010. This monography deals not only with the analysis of toponyms but brings also informations on significance of animals for the material and mental culture of people living on the today’s French territory.
