From the considerations of the symbolic of the moon in the context of poetry of Sergiusz Jesienin and Mikołaj Klujew (selected examples) The aim of the article is a linguistic analysis of symbolism of the moon in the poetry of Sergiusz Jesienin and Mikołaj Klujew. The applied semantic-cultural method of analyzing the poetic material is combined with the comparative method. Both poets were fascinated by nature, which was reflected in the uniqueness of symbolism. Attention was paid, among others, to the following symbolism of the moon: animals (foal, goose, frog, owl), people (watchman, witch), plants (melon, lily), “things” (jug, loaf of bread, shield), etc. It was pointed out that the symbolism of the moon could be compared with the Russian and European poets preceding Jesienin and Klujew. The conclusions will concern the similarities and differences between symbolism of the moon, understood as one of the subcodes in the linguistic field of semantic nature. The article indicates new possibilities of describing lyrical texts using linguistic modeling.
