Passion may be dened as a particular interest in something/somebody, a liking towards a given object (at times a personied one). It is a person’s disposition leading to selffulllment and creative fruition and engagement into a chosen area of activity. It is a driving force of human activity, as well as motivation and impulse towards the particular transgression within its limits. It is a valid factor in a personal change and altering of the world around us, usually giving the feeling of satisfaction and bringing sense to the human life (though sometimes it might become a source of suwering and sacrice as well). In the following article, the author analyses passion as a unique human experience. The text is structured by a sequence of questions which aim to reect on the given theme. Firstly, the author asks: What exactly is passion? What is its essence? What are its mechanism and sources? Secondly, she inquires: What are musical interests and how do they display themselves? What is their role and function? And thirdly, she attempts to determine how are the passions of Alle Choir members’ dened/determined and realised? e nal part of the article presents the results of the research study conducted to dene passion in its empirical image, based on the example of Alle Choir.
