Celem opracowania jest przedstawienie motywów protekcjonistycznej polityki prezydenta Trumpa i rozpatrzenie możliwych konsekwencji tej polityki dla wzajemnych relacji gospodarczych UE i USA. Po części wprowadzającej, dotyczącej roli USA i Unii Europejskiej (UE) w gospodarce światowej, autorzy opisują politykę handlową w stosunkach gospodarczych USA-UE, analizują wielkość i strukturę wzajemnej wymiany handlowej Unii Europejskiej i USA oraz elementy protekcjonizmu handlowego w polityce gospodarczej Donalda Trumpa ze szczególnym uwzględnieniem relacji Stanów Zjednoczonych z UE.

The aim of the study is to present the motives for the protectionist policy of President Trump and to consider possible consequences of this policy for EU-US economic relations. The authors present the role of the US and the EU in the global economy, describe trade policy in the US-EU economic relations, analyze the size and structure of EU-US trade, and elements of trade protectionism in Donald Trump's economic policy with particular insight into relations between the United States and the European Union.
