Postmodern society generates new forms of family life. This is observed in the appearance of new types of families as well as new forms within the types and models of family life to date. The type of "migration family" is a clear example of family experience which stems from general, social problems (e.g. due to the possibility of movement or the necessity of searching for sources of income for the family) and individual problems which are typical to any type of family. Transnational migrants do not resign from their marital, motherly and paternal duties but they even bring a new dimension to these obligations by introducing new solutions. The type of transnational family was distinguished as an exemplification of family life "above boarders". The functioning of such family - through constructing family strategies different from those in traditional family - proves the necessity of broadening the perspective of defining the boundaries of family life, the forms of parenthood and family itself. The type of transnational family is also an example of coexistence of diverse forms of personal and family life. The functioning of a family - through building family strategies which are different from those in a traditional family - proves that it is necessary to broaden the perspective of defin¬ing the boundaries of family life, the forms of parenthood and a family itself. Transnational perspective of evaluation of family functioning should expand today.
