Długa i bogata tradycja obecności lekcji religii w szkole oraz dążenie do wskazania katechezie szkolnej jej należytego miejsca w systemie oświatowym, a także w działalności Kościoła, były jednymi z powodów, dla których Austria, jako jeden z nielicznych krajów, może pochwalić się własnym dyrektorium katechetycznym, wydanym jeszcze przed Dyrektorium ogólnym o katechizacji. Pierwszy taki dokument został wydany już w 1971 r., następny w 1981. Dokumenty te są wyrazem troski Kościoła lokalnego o właściwy kształt działalności katechetycznej, zarówno tej prowadzonej we wspólnotach parafialnych, rodzinach, jak i podczas szkolnej lekcji religii. Niniejszy artykuł jest prezentacją i analizą dwóch ważnych dokumentów: Österreichisches Katechetisches Direktorium für Kinder und Jugendarbeit (Austriackie dyrektorium katechetyczne) z 1981 r. oraz Verkündigung und neue Evangelisierung in der Welt von heute (Przepowiadanie i nowa ewangelizacja we współczesnym świecie) wydanego przez Konferencję Episkopatu Austrii w 2012 r.

Long tradition of teaching religious education in schools paired with a desire to include it in the school system as well as in context of Church’s policy were among the reasons behind creation of Austrian Directory for Catechesis, issued before General Directory for Catechesis itself. First such document was written in 1971, next in 1982. Both documents express local Church’s concern for the right direction of catechesis in parishes, families and school education. Tis article presents and analyses two other important documents: Österreichisches Katechetisches Direktorium für Kinder- und Jugendarbeit (Austrian Directory for Catechesis) from 1981 r. and Verkündigung und neue Evangelisierung in der Welt von heute (Annunciation and new evangelisation in modern world) issued by Bishops of the Episcopal Conference of Austria in 2012.
