The clash of the Radziejów-Płowce, of 27 September 1331, between the Polish army, led by Władysław Łokietek, and the army of the Teutonic Order was repeatedly the subject of historical analysis. Since the beginning of the 20th century Polish historians tried to find the battlefield, the size of the forces participating in it, course of the battle and make a military and political summary. The most controversial issue raised was its political significance. The vast majority of authors found the battle, tactically indecisive, but a strategic victory of Polish forces. Only a few like T. Korzon, S. Kujot, T. M. Nowak and J. Wimmer recognized it as a decisive victory for Władysław Łokietek, while a victory for the Knights was determined by S. Kaniowski, T. Jurek and A. Zieliński. The following article presents the views of Polish historians on the problem of military and political significance of the battle.
