Obituary of Jan Henryk Finksten (1925-2010), an academic and a lecturer at the Academy of Fine Arts in Łódź. As a clothing designer and textile engineer Finkstein brought a great deal of rationalism to teaching methods. He was a prolific academic, and developed The Principles of Coordinating Clothing Elements („Zasady koordynowania elementów ubioru"). He conducted a series of lectures on sociological and psychological aspects of clothing design.
