Disability has been the object of numerous theoretical as well as interdisciplinary studies, and protagonists with disabilities have been present in the literature for a long time. In the theoretical considerations the concept of disability culture, interdisciplinary disability studies and the crip theory have all been evoked. The article attempts to discuss selected creations of disabled protagonists of contemporary literary texts from the end of the 20th century and the beginning of the 21st century, which can be used in educational practice.
