Experts say the financial crisis was, is and will be. The task is, therefore, investors look for such forms of investment which in the most convenient way for the investor shall ensure the protection of capital and the expected rate of return on investment. Examples of such investments in times of crisis are alternative investments, ie investments that are alternative to the numerous groups of instruments dependent on stock market fluctuations as stocks, mutual funds. The paper presents the development of the possible forms of alternative investments namely structured products the Polish capital market behavior with variants of the product in the context of modern effective management of capital. It also presents an example of structured product valuation.
