Reumatoidalne zapalenie stawów (RZS) jest jedną z najbardziej rozpowszechnionych chorób reumatycznych. W przebiegu tej choroby najczęściej zajęte są stawy rąk; zmiany dotyczą także skóry, mięśni, pochewek ścięgnistych i kaletek maziowych. Częstość występowania zmian w ręce w przebiegu RZS i rozmiary kalectwa z powodu postępujących deformacji zmuszają do poszukiwania różnych środków zaradczych. Leczenie umożliwia chorym dostęp do szeroko rozumianej rehabilitacji i kompleksowej fizjoterapii z wykorzystaniem: fizykoterapii, farmakoterapii, kinezyterapii oraz masażu. Celem artykułu jest przedstawienie kompleksowego programu leczenia ręki reumatoidalnej zarówno w okresie zaostrzeń, jak i remisji choroby. Należy zaznaczyć, że niewiele jest wiadomości w literaturze na temat rehabilitacji ręki. Dlatego praca ta stanowi syntezę dotychczasowej wiedzy. Zaprezentowany tu materiał będzie pomocny fizjoterapeutom – ułatwi im planowanie oraz realizację kompleksowego postępowania fizjoterapeutycznego.

Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA) is one of the most common rheumatic diseases that affects millions of people worldwide. In the course of this condition, the joints of the hands are most commonly affected. As the disease progresses, other areas such as skin, muscles, tendon sheaths and synovial bursas can be involved. Due to the high incidence of rheumatoid hand disease and progressive deformations often resulting in disability, it is necessary to seek various forms of treatment. Treatment provides patients with access to rehabilitation in a broad sense and comprehensive physical therapy with the use of pharmacotherapy, kinesiotherapy and massage. The aim of this article is to present an extensive treatment program for the rheumatoid hand during both exacerbation and remission periods of the disease. It is necessary to mention that information on the subject of rheumatoid hand rehabilitation is scarce in the literature. Therefore, this paper is a synthesis of the current knowledge of this topic. This presentation will be of great use to physical therapists – it will make it easier for them to plan and administer a comprehensive physiotherapeutic treatment.
