The subject matter of this review is a catalogue of microfilms containing the oldest birth, marriage and death record books preserved in the area of the current Czestochowa archdioces, scentifically described by the director of the Archdioces Archive in Czestochowa. It conteins informations about 2944 mictofilmed books from 113 parishes. Each copy was throughly described according to a uniform questionnaire: an axact tittle of each book in its original language (Latin, Polish or Russian), its dating, its measurements, the number of pagea and a very useful speccification of its storage place witz the current reference number of each book's microfilm. However, several postulates to widen the content matter of Introduction could be raised in order to facilitate the reader's orientation in the catalogue
