Artykuł omawia ostatni okres rozwoju myśli Maurice’a Merleau-Ponty’ego, w którym została napisana książka Widzialne i niewidzialne. Opierając się na interpretacjach i komentarzach francuskich badaczy jego filozofii, pokazuję, że dualizm podmiotowo-przedmiotowy, który francuski filozof usiłował przezwyciężyć od samego początku swojej działalności filozoficznej, pozostaje nieprzezwyciężony. Co więcej, wydaje się, że to ostatnie nie jest możliwe.

The article describes the final period of development of Merleau-Ponty’s philosophy, during which he wrote The Visible and the Invisible. Using the interpretations and commentaries of French scholars, I try to show that the subject-object dualism which the French philosopher tried to overcome throughout his philosophical activity continues to persist. In fact, it would seem that it cannot be overcome.
