Autor na podstawie tekstów publicystycznych z końca XVIII wieku prezentuje sylwetkę Tadeusza Koźciuszki - bohatera powstania narodowego z 1794 roku. Opis nawiązuje do kognitywistycznej teorii językowego obrazu źwiata. Cechy bohatera ujęto w trzech profilach: a) profil obrońcy ubogich, b) profil przywódcy narodu, c) profil wodza powstania.

The present publication gives a portrait of Tadeusz Kosciuszko – a national hero of the 1794 uprising, based on journalistic texts from the late eighteenth century. The description refers to the cognitive theory of the linguistic image of the world. The hero’s characteristics are presented in three profiles: a) the profile of a defender of the poor, b) the profile of a leader of the nation, c) the profile of the chief leader of an uprising.
