La notion d’équivalence est communément comprise comme la reproduction dans la langue cible d’un sens exprimé dans la langue de départ. Pourtant, la traduction des textes journalistiques impose au traducteur une dimension supplémentaire importante : la référence du texte au contexte de l’énonciation. Il en résulte que dans ce type de traduction la recherche des équivalences ne s’appuie plus sur la correspondance entre les termes utilisés, mais sur les contextes énonciatifs différents de l’original et de sa traduction. Dans cet article on discute les limites entre l’équivalence et l’adaptation sur l’exemple de titres des articles en français, parus et traduits en polonais sur le site VoxEurop.

The notion of equivalence is widely understood as conveying the meaning of a text in the original language to the target one. However, press texts translation requires the translator to consider an additional factor, which is to refer the original text and its translation to a broadly defined narrative context. In this case, the search for equivalents does not touch upon vocabulary or phrasing accuracy, but a comparison of the different cultural contexts instead. In the following article, the author discusses the boundaries between equivalence and adaptation based upon French press titles and their translations available on the VoxEurop platform.

Pojęcie ekwiwalencji jest ogólnie rozumiane jako oddanie w języku docelowym sensu tekstu wyrażonego w języku wyjściowym. Tłumaczenie tekstów prasowych zmusza jednak tłumacza do wzięcia pod uwagę dodatkowego parametru, a mianowicie odniesienia oryginału i jego tłumaczenia do szeroko pojętego kontekstu wypowiadania. W tym wypadku poszukiwanie ekwiwalentów nie opiera się na odpowiedniości słownictwa czy wyrażeń, a bardziej na porównaniu tych różnych kontekstów kulturowych. W niniejszym artykule omawiane są granice między ekwiwalencją a adaptacją na przykładzie tytułów prasy francuskiej i ich tłumaczeń dostępnych na platformie VoxEurop.
