The article is devoted to the analysis of two works: Wierszaliński raj by Alaksiej Karpiuk andWierszalin. Reportaż o końcu świata by Włodzimierz Pawluczuk. The main plot is dedicated tothe life and activities of an illiterate peasant Eliasz Klimowicz who lives in Grzybowszczyzna- a small village in Podlasie. He was an unusual character in some way because in the 20’s and 30-iesof XX century he was considered a prophet by many inhabitants of Podlasie. He proclaimeda quick end of the world and was to build a new spiritual capital - Wierszalin.
