W pracy przedstawiono historię oraz rozwój Stokliszek, uzdrowiska nad Niemnem, koło Trok, o którym wspominano już w XVI wieku. Walory tego uzdrowiska stanowią wody mineralne oraz łagodny klimat. Szczegółowo ukazano opisy uzdrowiska dokonane przez Władysława Syrokomlę (1823–1862), polskiego poetę. Przedstawiono także szczegółowo historię stokliskich źródeł mineralnych, wskazania lecznicze. Pokazano atrakcje oraz możliwości rekreacyjne czekające na kuracjuszy w tym ciekawym uzdrowisku.

The history of Stokliszki, a health resort by the river Neman on the North-eastern borderland of Poland, first mentioned in the 16th century is recounted in full particulars, first of all. The value of this health resort was determined by salt springs and a mild climate. Descriptions of Stokliszki by Władysław Syrokomla (1832–1862), the Polish poet are presented widely. The history of local mineral salt springs and indications in many diseases are described with full particulars. The attractions and chances of recreation in this interesting health resort showed finally.
