The art that is based on geometry seems to be inviolably durable. It was created by our cave ancestors. It was used in ancient and more recent times as information signs and ornaments. Over the last five decades, it has undergone quite distinct changes as a trend in art. However, these changes did not entirely transform this trend, nor did they get rid of its classical features. The trend of geometry in art is neither anachronistic nor extinct and imitative. It originates from the earliest times and cultures, continues to develop and will probably continue until the mankind survives. Bożena Kowalska's text presents particular stages of geometric abstraction development, as well as the permanent features of this trend in art.
