75th birthday of prof. Karol Olejnik be the most important excuse to show his achievements in the field of military history. This researcher notes in his achievements undertaken a broad spectrum of issues. This article discusses only the closed publications books, because in my opinion they are the largest output value. Olejnik made his debut book „Działalność militarna Polski w czasach Kazimierza Wielkiego”. Extremely important achievements is the development of „Rozwój polskiej myśli wojskowej do końca XVIII wieku”. This work is a very important point in the Polish military historians and military historians environment is treated as an indispensable compendium of knowledge and information. The theme, which was very intrigued Poland’s western border. He dedicated the two publications: „Obrona polskiej granicy zachodniej. Okres rozbicia dzielnicowego i monarchii stanowej (1138-1385)” and the „Obrona polskiej granicy zachodniej od końca XIV do schyłku XVIII wieku”. Thanks to the work of K. Olejnik we know all the problems related to this topic. An important element of the K. Olejnik is biograhy. He devoted special attention to the rulers of the characters who played an important role in the history of the Polish military. Therefore, we have received biographies of Kazimierz Wielki, Stefan Batory and Władysław III Jagiełło. In addition to serious scientific studies on the author devoted himself to popularizing military issues. The result was „Historia Wojska Polskiego” and „Głogów 1109”. At the end it is worth mentioning the work of special, which differs from the mainstream historical and military research, but it is like a culmination of scientific work, because the only way to treat the synthesis of multi-volume „Historia Polski”. Jubilat although officially retired it continues to be active in research and to be expected in the near future further studies.
