Prof. Dr. hab. Adam Jerzy Miłobędzki, an outstanding scholar dealing with Old Polish culture, an historian of art and architecture, a member of the Committee of Sciences of Art at the Polish Academy of Sciences, an honorary member of Comité International d’Histoire de l’Art and the Society of Antiquaries, and an active member of the Polish Academy of Letters and Sciences and many other scientific societies, died on 6 December 2003. Prof. A. J. Miłobędzki was a great expert on Polish and European architecture, whose publications served several generations of researchers, and a preeminent academic teacher at Warsaw University and Polytechnic.
