In the article the author examines the interest of publishers and readers in the work of Edmund Niziurski in Poland and other countries. The article is based on a bibliographic-statistical analysis of the publication of the various books in 1951–2013. The analysis draws on bibliographic sources (including the current national bibliography, “Polska Bibliografia Literacka” [Polish Literary Biog-raphy]), revealing that Niziurski’s books have been published in Poland 251 times, but only 33 times abroad (in 12 languages: Bulgarian, Czech, Slovak, Russian, Ukrainian, Lithuanian, Latvian, Estonian, Georgian, German, Hungarian and Chinese). However, for many years they have very rarely been reissued. The most popular books, still kept being reissued in Poland, are the following novels: Sposób na Alcybiadesa [How to Get Alcibiades] (33 editions), Księga urwisów [The Book of Little Rascals] (21 editions) and Niewiarygodne przygody Marka Piegusa [The Extraordinary Adventures of Marek Piegus] (18 editions). The least popular among Niziurski’s works are those written for adults in the 1950s (the novel Wyraj, stories, collection of reportage). Niziurski’s books have been published in Poland by 32 publishing houses. The article is followed by an annex with a list of all of the author’s works, total number of editions and number of editions by the various publishing houses.
