W artykule zaprezentowano główne założenia idei całożyciowego uczenia się oraz ich związek z edukacją dorosłych. Ukazano również miejsce edukacji akademickiej w kontekście koncepcji uczenia się przez całe życie. Wskazano także na pozaformalne i nieformalne aspekty edukacji akademickiej oraz na rolę uczelni wyższych w urzeczywistnianiu tejże idei.

This article presents the main assumptions of the idea of lifelong learning and their relation to adult education. It shows also the place of academic education and the concept of learning throughout life. It also discusses the formal and informal aspects of academic education and the role of universities in the realization of that idea.
