The text is an attempt to present briefly a 60-year history of the Centre of Polish Language and Culture for Foreigners „Polonicum” at Warsaw University. It has a character of jubilee summary. The author evokes in it memories and reflections of the staff affiliated with „Polonicum” from the beginning of its existence. The author does not pass over the story about the contemporary times and the plans for the future of this biggest academic centre in Poland, which has been teaching Polish as a foreign language for the longest period of 60 years.
