In view of the 21st century, the concept of “taikyoku” (the extreme contrast / bipolarity / harmony) is equally an important source of creation: circle vs. square, red vs. black, curved line vs. straight line. The intersection and joining of metaphysical values and philosophical symbols characterize the creator’s style. The circle, the power of the God, is opposed to the square, which is the symbol of humanity. “Taikyoku” means to keep coexistence of each truth of two elements in opposite position, by sustaining their nature, without perfectly fusing and connecting, but sustaining tension between them. “Taikyoku” is a design concept of Junko Koshiono, the core of all her projects.
