Testosterone is the main male sex hormone. Its determination is useful for the assessment of the androgen status. Steroids influence not only male and female reproductive systems, but also the development and function of other tissue. Therefore, it is very important to list the substances with hormonal activity, their potency and ways of exposition. Moreover, there is the need to define doses which are safe for humans and to recognize the effects of chronic exposition.
