Dokumenty zgromadzone w Archiwum w Starym Kisielinie dotyczą wytyczenia, oznakowania oraz kontroli przygranicznych regionów Ziemi Lubuskiej. Obejmują one lata 1945-1970, zawierają szereg decyzji i zarządzeń administracyjnych regulujących kwestię prawne osiedlania się w obrębie oraz powody wysiedleń ze Strefy Nadgranicznej. Opisują problemy i obowiązki jakie na poszczególne miasta i powiaty nakładała bliskość granicy i współpraca z organami ją chroniącymi. Na posiedzeniach Prezydium Wojewódzkiej Rady Narodowej w Zielonej Górze omawiano sprzeczne i niezrozumiałe przepisy graniczne, próbowano łagodzić spory pomiędzy organami terenowymi administracji a WOP-em. Zbiór dokumentów jest przykładem pewnego chaosu jaki powstał na nowo tworzonej granicy państwa, próby zagospodarowania przejętego mienia czy niepewnej sytuacji co do zajmowanych terenów wśród ludności cywilnej.

The documents gathered in the archives in Stary Kisielin concern delineating as well as marking and controlling the borderland regions of Lubusz Land. They cover the years 1945-1970. They contain a number of decisions and administrational edicts that regulate the legal matters regarding the settlement and the reasons for relocation of people from the borderline areas. They describe the problems and responsibilities of particular cities and counties that stemmed from their close proximity to the border as well as the cooperation with the authorities protecting the border. At the sessions of the Presidium of the Provincial National Council in Zielona Góra, contradictory and incoherent border regulations were discussed and the conflicts between the terrain administration authorities and the Border Protection Army (Wojska Ochrony Pogranicza) were resolved This collection of documents constitute an example of a certain chaos that arose on the newly created border, the attempts to put the reclaimed property into use and the situation of uncertainty regarding the reclaimed lands among the civilian population.
