Autor niniejszego artykułu dowodzi, że spektakularne, a zarazem tragiczne w skutkach, zamachy terrorystyczne przeprowadzone na przestrzeni ostatnich lat (Nowy Jork 2001, Madryt 2004, Londyn 2005) przez różne ugrupowania muzułmańskie przyniosły nie tylko uzasadniony strach przed islamem, lecz także wzmogły zainteresowanie i tą religią, i ruchami ekstremistycznymi, które odwołują się do jej przesłania. W jego ocenie większość badaczy koncentruje swoje wysiłki na tych grupach, które głoszą radykalne hasła i nawołują do walki z Zachodem przez prowadzenie dżihadu – świętej wojny z niewiernymi – w celu zapanowania szariatu (prawa islamskiego) nad całym światem. Autor artykułu uważa jednak, że w pełni uzasadnione jest podjęcie badań również nad tymi ugrupowaniami, które, formalnie głosząc pokojowy islam, często stanowią lub mogą stanowić zaplecze dla muzułmańskich terrorystów. To dzięki istnieniu tego „pokojowego zaplecza”, które spokojnie działa poza światłem jupiterów, ekstremiści mogą zasilać swoje szeregi. Prezentowana publikacja stara się wykazać związki pomiędzy misjonarzami głoszącymi umiarkowany islam a ekstremistami odwołującymi się do tej religii. Autor artykułu jest przekonany, że muzułmańskie ruchy głoszące pokojową „koranizację” świata mogą być niewyczerpanym rezerwuarem służącym pozyskiwaniu nowych członków przez islamskie grupy ekstremistyczne. Taką grupą może być Tablighi Jama’at – Towarzystwo Szerzenia Wiary.

The author of the article suggests that the spectacular but tragic terrorist attacks in the recent years (9/11 in NY, 2004 in Madrid, 2005 in London), launched by different Muslim groups, have created not only justified fear of Islam, but also increased the interest in this religion and the extremists that refer to its meaning. In author’s view most of the researchers concentrate on the groups which claim radical slogans and exhort war against the West by jihad- holy war against the infidels in order to introduce the sharia (Islamic) laws that would rule the world. The author suggests that it is also well-founded to start the research of the groups that, though formally preach peaceful Islam, often are or can be a backup for Muslim terrorists. It is because of this peaceful backup, hidden in the background of world’s media interest, that the extremists may easily recruit new members. This article tries to show the connections between clerics preaching moderate Islam and extremists referring to this religion. The author believes that the Muslim movements preaching peaceful coranisation of the world can be an inexhaustible reservoir of recruits for the Islamic extremist groups. One of them may be Tablighi Jama’at - Society for spreading faith.
