Współczesna – neoliberalna wersja kapitalizmu często jest przedstawiana jako odrzucenie materialności na rzecz abstrakcyjnych operacji finansowych (Marazzi 2010), zakwestionowanie lokalności na rzecz globalnych pływów. Nawet jednak taki zdeterytorializowany kapitalizm styka się od czasu do czasu z tym co materialne i lokalne. Tymi punktami styku są najczęściej współczesne miasta. W prezentowanym tekście pokazuję, że miasto może nie tylko walczyć o autonomię poza neoliberalnym paradygmatem, ale może stać się pułapką, punktem podparcia, który ten paradygmat przewróci.
