On the basis of her own micro-ethnographic study, the author discusses the features of a Polish preschool operating in Egypt. The author begins with a brief description of the sociopolitical situation in Egypt. Then she moves on to present the Egyptian education system. In the subsequent part of the article, the author discusses the characteristics of the researched preschool. She analyzes the issues of funding, qualifications of the staff, working hours, daily schelude, organization of the teaching process, and the duties of the preschool’s owner.
