To see literary “paintings” and understand painting “texts”, thus, to pierce the mystery of works, the character of which is a Renaissance murderer (Béatrice Cenci) is the aim of this article. Romantic fascinations with the person in question are reflected in works by such great authors as Shelley, Stendhal, Hawthorne and Słowacki. The book Beatrix Cenci, written by the last of the authors mentioned constitutes a research point of culmination: it completes the stage of an installed character this time in a universe of a Romantic drama.

Voire des « images » littéraires et comprendre des « textes y » de peinture, alors pénétrer le secret des oeuvres dont l’héroïne est une meurtrière de la Renaissance (Béatrice Cenci) est l’objectif de cet article. Les fascinations romantiques de ce personnage ont trouvé leurs réalisations dans les oeuvres des artistes si éminents comme Shelley, Stendhal, Hawthorne et Słowacki. La lecture de Beatrix Cenci, texte écrit par le dernier des écrivains cités, constitue un « point d’arrivée des recherches » ; elle complète l’étude de la personne « installée » – cette fois – dans l’univers du drame romantique.
