The article presents the range of decisions made by the member-states of the European Union (using the simplified system) about substantial problems concerning the Single Area Payment Scheme. It also presents how this instrument is implemented in Poland (including elements of comparison with other countries). The research showed that on the one hand, the flexibility of the Common Agricultural Policy enabled the member-states to implement the instrument and distribute funds according to local conditions and endemic needs. However, on the other hand, it diversified the support systems in different countries and the conditions of farms’ competition on the single market.
