The article is devoted to the role of Ukrainian sacronyms in the national onymic system of Ukrainian language. The author proved that the possibility of a thorough analysis of Ukrainian sacronyms appeared only after the fall of the atheistic Soviet Union. The author divides Ukrainian sacronyms into the most representative groups.
