In this article the author describes her experience of teaching a three-week intensive course of Polish language and culture, titled Survival Polish and Introduction to Polish Culture, at the Kyungpook National University in Daegu, South Korea, in June and July 2017. The presentation of the course content and observations on Korean students’ interests and difficulties are accompanied by the description of the city of Daegu and different representative features of contemporary Korean culture and society. One major aspect of the article includes the similarities between Polish and Korean culture, observed by Korean students who prepared presentations on different Poland-related topics for a contest organized by the Polish Embassy in South Korea.
