Artykuł stanowi krótki historyczny przegląd miast województwa płockiego w latach 20. XIX wieku. Opis został przygotowany przez burmistrzów na potrzeby rządu Królestwa Polskiego. W tym czasie komisja rządowa miała zdecydować, które miasta mają stracić swój status, a które nie. Proces ten spowodował szeroki zakres nieuczciwych decyzji związanych z degradacją miast.

This article represents short historic review of Płock voivodship cities in the twenties of the 19th century. Such historical description was prepared by Masovian mayors as requested by the government of the Kingdom of Poland. At that time, the government commission was supposed to decide which cities could maintain their city status. The process resulted in a wide range of unfair decisions related to the degradation of the cities.
