With political and economic upheavals from Brazil to Russia, there is a sense that the BRICS initiative has lost speed, grounded to a halt. This in turn is interpreted as a sign that China is more preoccupied with problems at home that need to be urgently resolved, meaning imminent collapse of BRICS. Surprising, however, is the frontal attack angled by notorious Marxists/Trotskyists like Immanuel Wallerstein. In his short article he echoes exactly the same views as the world of finance and stock jugglers. All his suppositions fail to take into account the conditions in which the current international regime was created in.

Na základě politických a ekonomických výkyvů od Brazílie po Rusko vznikla domněnka, že organizace BRICS ztrácí na rychlosti, či dokonce zcela ustane ve své činnosti. Tato skutečnost je zdůvodňována jako známka toho, že lídr BRICS — Čína — je mnohem více zaměstnán domácími problémy, jež musí urgentně vyřešit,28 spíše než bezprostřední kolaps BRICS. Přesto je ale otázka překvapení hlavním prostředkem útoku známých marxistů/trockistů jako Immanuel Wallerstein. V jeho krátkém článku se opakují zcela stejné pohledy jak pro finanční svět, tak pro akciové podvodníky. Všechny jeho domněnky ale selhávají při pohledu na podmínky, v nichž byl současný mezinárodní systém vytvořen.
