This article is an attempt to analyse the sources of the Polish “constitutional crisis” through the prism of chaos theory derived from the exact sciences. The considerations focus on the legal causes of the deformation of the solutions of the 1997 Constitution of the Republic of Poland that have taken place since the end of 2015. The author starts from the assumption that both the Constitution and the law are part of the common good. Thus, he considers violations of these solutions as a social evil. He therefore tries to identify the conditions that made possible the systemic departure from the constitutional solutions adopted in 1997. In the article, the author points to the relationship between political and legal culture and the actual regulatory significance of the solutions of the Basic Law. However, he focuses his analysis on viewing law and politics as systems that consist of a number of simple starting principles. Such an approach allows the use of the aforementioned theory derived from the exact sciences to indicate the dependencies that arise from it when analysing social phenomena.
