Languages of publication
Euroregions are one of the basic forms of local government co-operation at the international level. Condition for the development of cross-border activity is to provide adequate funding. It is one of the elements in the united Europe that promote the idea of “Europeanness”, strengthen international co-operation and also counteract with observed manifestations of the economic crisis. The main challenge facing the European Union is to simplify the law to allow simpler and more effective cross border cooperation. One such attempt at simplification is a regulation introducing a European Grouping of Territorial Cooperation (EGTC) as a response to the barriers that greater integration of countries, regions are facing.
