The article is concentrated on a problem of “Regained Territories” in propaganda of Polish press in 1947. In this year the political propaganda about western and northern territories was complex, but in the main subject was dominated by the questions considering the Odra river and similar questions about borders and economy. In official propaganda of the state this river was a powerful road and bridge of a Polish-Czechoslovakian cooperation. The press focused on the Odra as a connection of wealth from Down Silesia with a Baltic Sea. There were also some ideas to incorporate a left-shore part of this river. As in pre vious years propaganda of “Regained Territories” was aimed in emphasizing in consciousness of Poles a crucial role of friendship with USSR as a guaranty of western borders. The catholic press in 1947 more often then in the past was concentrated on the subject of this territory, being agree with opinion about state border on Odra and Nysa Łużycka. The press of S. Mikołajczyk’s party emphasized the fact of recover empty and destroyed western and northern territories of Poland, with the loses of other part of a country and wrote about a historical rights. In the press of this party was emphasize a well known argument about physical movement of Poland to the west, which made this country a straight Middle European and taking off a crucial role of Germany in this part of continent.
