В статье проанализировано восстановление действия конституций в Грузии, Латвии, Литве и Эстонии после краха социалистической системы. Восстановление действия старых конституций в мировой практике – нечастый случай. В странах Восточной Европы восстановление старых конституций имело символическое и политическое значение, укрепляя доктрину государственной непрерывности (континуитета) и легитимируя новый конституционный строй. Отдельно проанализирован случай Латвии, когда действие конституции 15 февраля 1922 года было восстановлено практически, превратив его в конституционную реальность.

The article analyzes the renewal of the constitution in Georgia, Latvia, Lithuania and Estonia after the collapse of the socialist system. The renewal of the old constitutions is an infrequent event in the world. In Eastern Europe, the restoration of the old constitution had symbolic and political importance, reinforcing the doctrine of state continuity (continuity) and legitimizing the new constitutional order. Separately analyzed the case of Latvia, when the Constitution of February 15, 1922, has been restored and turned into a constitutional reality.
