W artykule wskazano istotę inwestowania pasywnego i aktywnego. Przeprowadzono analizę rynku funduszy inwestycyjnych i związanych z nimi kosztów. Opisano stosunkowo nowy na polskim rynku instrument finansowy jakim jest fundusz ETF. Umożliwia on tanie inwestowanie pasywne na giełdzie. Jest bardzo popularny na Zachodzie, lecz nie zdążył jeszcze zdobyć popularności wśród rodzimych inwestorów. Następnie przeprowadzono analizę stóp zwrotu i oszacowano wielkości możliwych spadków na indeksach WIG20, DAX i S&P 500. Wskazano również pokrótce najważniejsze czynniki determinujące koniunkturę na rodzimych parkietach wspomnianych indeksów. W dalszej części artykułu opisano możliwości optymalizacji strategii pasywnej, co w praktyce czyni ją strategią hybrydową.

The article indicates the essence of the passive and active investing. The analysis of the investment funds market and associated costs was conducted. The paper describes the financial instrument, relatively new on the Polish market, which is the ETF. It enables low cost passive investing in the stock, and is very popular in the West, but has not yet managed to gain popularity amongst the domestic investors. Then the author conducted the analysis of the rates of return, and evaluated magnitude of possible declines in the following indexes: WIG20, DAX and S&P 500. He also characterized briefly the most important factors determining the situation on the domestic stock exchanges of the mentioned indexes. The rest of the article describes the ways to optimize the passive strategy of investing, which in practice makes it a hybrid strategy.
